Hi,
Can you please help. I am having one too many problems with IE7.
1) Have already defined a default start page but despite this, everytime I start IE, it starts with a page having URL "http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx". But NOTHING happens on this page
2) In Gmail when I try to switch from basic HTML mode to standard mode, I just get a page with URL
"http://mail.google.com/mail/". Here too nothing happens and looks like I am forced to live with using Gmail only in simple HTML mode![]()
3) Nothing which appears to have a javascript window or a download activity is not working. I have tried many websites including the one from where I was trying to download the Intel's chipset utility, but no download happens...Have tried refresh, starting all over again etc. etc. but Nothing
4) Have tried to reset all IE settings to default but still no solution
Will appreciate your help.
Thanks.

The best thing for your computer, sanity, and surfing experience would be to install Firefox immediately.
-
Try reinstalling IE7
-
Try scanning for malware. Do it in safe mode.

are you missing any plugins? such as Flash etc? I think Yahoo mail requires the Flash plugin to work properly but I don't know about Gmail..
If sites that need Java don't seem to work you could try downloading it from Sun Microsystems and manually installing it.. the link is http://www.java.com/en/ then click the free Java download button..
or of course... as minimalism says.. there's always Firefox! You can get a IE7 lookalike skin for it now to help with the switch -
well your first problem have you read the page i believe you have to answer a few questions the url is runonce but it will keep running until you answer the questions on the page. i just installed ie7 on my girlfriends pc and had the same problem, it kept coming up when ever i opened ie7 but once i checked the boxes on the page i restarted ie and it used my desired homepage i honestly cant help you with your other problems ut i hope that helps one of them.
