I don't know how long ago you tried, but the whole 64-bit driver situation is mostly a thing of the past now. I, along with many others, have run 64-bit with almost 0 driver issues. The only time I had a hard time with finding a driver was for the new LaserJet printer that I bought, but I eventually found what I was looking for and it works perfectly now. There are likely some lingering issues with certain hard-to-find drivers, but I think that has mostly been solved by many of the manufacturers.

Still running 32-bit here mainly because I don't need 64-bit yet. The main advantage is to have more memory but to be honest, 3 GB of RAM is more than sufficient. I hardly break the 2 GB mark in Vista and that's with a ton of apps open, plus the laptop came with 32-bit version of Vista.

My home computer which has XP 32-bit has only 1 GB of RAM and again, doesn't use that much. So for me, I just don't see the need to switch to 64-bit just yet, perhaps on my next laptop purchase.
