Anyone have any experience using Portable Thunderbird for email?

I have been using IMAP with my school's email to keep everything looking the same between PCs, but my mailbox is finally full and I can no longer keep doing that.

I have recently trained myself to carry a 1GB USB key everywhere, so I was thinking of using PortableThunderbird to keep my mail synched wherever I go, at least for the next few months until I graduate.
