    http://geeksmack.net/microsoft/756-microsoft-signature-pcs-oem-computers-minus-the-crapware.html

According to the article, Microsoft will start moving to Signature PCs that will come with Windows OS without third party programs. They also point out the case with Apple who has a pretty good end user customer experience because of the quality control. Most laptops and desktop come loaded with antivirus, custom manufacturer programs and drivers that render the computer useless.
I think one of the reason why people whine about crappy operating system (Vista, 7, etc) is because of the amount of software that is on the computer already.
This should come to no surprise to most of us. There is evidence that supports the idea that bloatware ruins the reputation of Windows because they are so lacking in the quality control as far as allowing what is loaded on a new computer.

    Thanks for reading?

There is also the question of cost; does the profit made from advertising this useless software outweigh the hidden costs of frustrated consumers returning the PC due to seemingly trivial problems caused by this unregulated and problematic software?

This is a question I'd be interested in learning the answer to.

Hmm, this is good... though I wonder how many people will really buy from the MS store and not BB or Dell.com etc. I don't think it will make a real dent unless and untill they successfully pressure the OEMs and retailers to release vanilla/Signature installs.

We all know that Microsoft excels at exerting pressure. ;)
