This is gonna be a very noobish question so please bear with me. Also, i hope I'm in the right section since this is software related.
So basically, I have a copy of Microsoft Office 2010 that can be installed three times. I've used it twice on my two computers. Now, I'm planning on getting a new laptop, but it doesn't have a DVD drive. So, my question is, can I make an ISO of my disc and then mount it on a virtual drive on the laptop to install? Or is there some piracy preventive measures that prevent you from installing it from the ISO?

1) Make sure you have WinRAR or 7-Zip (which is free)
2) right click on the ISO file, then choose extract to XXX (where XXX is the name of the actual ISO file you have and will be the name of the extracted folder)
3) now go to the folder you just extracted
4) you will see the setup.exe file there or you may see an X86 and X64 folder. Depending on the flavor you want to install, enter the folder accordingly but I and Microsoft recommend you stick to the x86 (which is 32-Bit) flavor even if you have a 64-Bit OS for compatibility reasons and office 64-bit offers nothing more than 32-bit other than headaches
5) insert your product key when prompted
6) now you will get a list of the components you want to install
7) right click on the first choice from the top and choose Run all from my computer to have MS Office's components all installed locally and not prompt you to insert the CD when you try to run a certain feature that you have not installed.
8) Open MS Word or any other Office application
9) Choose to do the automatic updates when prompted, then close that application
10) Launch Windows Updates and search for available updates. You will find many Office updates. Just install them then reboot when prompted -

Or you could just install Daemon Tools Lite (virtual DVD drive), mount the Office 2010 .iso file, and it'll act exactly the same as if you had a physical Office 2010 install DVD.
Possible to install Office 2010 from ISO image?
