Hi there. I have an HP Envy 15-3006tx, and my power options are missing after replacing the hard drive with an ssd and doing a clean install.

When I click on the battery icon on the system tray, it says "Select a power plan:", but there aren't any options on it. If I go to power options, it says "Your power plan information isn't available."

I tried making my own power plan, and after doing so, Power Saver and High Performance showed up, along with my custom made power plan. There is no Balance power plan option (I have done a clean install of Windows a handful of times already but this is the only time the "Balanced" option didn't show up).

So after I made my own power plan which made Power Saver and High Perfomance appear on power options, it still does not appear on the small windows that opens up when I click on the battery icon on the system tray (it is still blank). Moreover, if I delete my custom made power plan, Power Saver and High Performance disappears again from the power options and I get the "Your power plan information isn't available" message again.

I have tried the command prompt thing "powercfg –restoredefaultschemes" but it doesn't do anything.

I need the power options (specifically the Balanced, since that is what I use) to set how long before my system dims the display, turns it off, and puts the PC to sleep.

Any help is much appreciated. :)

I should have. I basically copied the drivers folder on my original hard drive and ran and install in on my ssd.

Hmm let me download them from HP website and try again.

EDIT: i reinstalled the chipset and graphics driver (amd), but I am still having the same issue.

Does anyone know the default settings of the "Balanced" power plan? I will just make my own power plan and copy the settings.

The guide is applicable if the power plans are present, which isn't the case for mine.

Anyway, I re-installed windows and the power options are showing properly now. I guess something went wrong on my previous install.
