Hey guys, running vista 64
I have lost my power plan options.
It tells me that my registry entries may be missing or corrupted?
Can anyone help?

down the bottom of the page, u can try to restore the registry manually. But if it warns that u have a corrupted/damaged registry, best bet is to perform a repair
cheers ... -
Yeah think the repair is the best option.
That page I found earlier, just tells you how to set the current power plan, not restore the settings. Thanks though! -

I will have a look, thanks.

I followed that, but sadly it did not give me back my power plan options
-
Has anyone had any luck here? I have the same exact problem.
Thanks! -
Encountered this same issue today. Shutdown the laptop and when I booted it up a few hours later - all power plans missing. ARGH. Still looking for a way to fix it. I think somehow my registry was screwed. I ghosted the drive on the 6th - so at least I wont lose much if I have to restore the image.

Have you tried doing a system restore yet?

This may help if you want to restore the power plans:

I don't know if 64-bit uses the same files... but I guess it probably does.
To install the power settings files... I haven't done this, but... run a command prompt as admin and try this:
powercfg -import filename.pow
or do "powercfg /?" to see command options. -
that makes sense. when i try to import, i get a message stating the file cannot be found. any idea where the originals would be stored on the C: drive?

Well, rebooted after importing the plans - still no dice. registry keys must be hosed for the power options control panel. they show up when left clicking on the power icon, but when i select more power options, i get a message stating they cant be retrieved.
oh well, time to restore my most recent backup. Argh. -

Batboy, I have the same problem with my power options - I believe the registry keys are hosed.
Have you figured out a solution?
I believe my problems started when I used EasyCleaner to delete invalid keys from my registry.
