Okay i have upgraded from Vista to windows 7 a while back and my power plan on vista automatically adjusted the screen brightness whenever i plugged/unplugged my laptop and automatically switched power plans from high performance to power saver. However, on windows 7 this doesn't happen even though i have the screen brightness settings low for unplugged and high for plugged in. For example, when im in class i run on battery on lowest brightness, and then i hibernate my laptop until i can plug it in again, but after i turn it on and plug it in, the screen brightness setting gets "stuck", my Fn button to adjust it wont do anything and the only way to fix this is to turn my lcd off and turn it on again where the brightness adjustment starts responding again.
Any suggestions? Is there something i need to configure additionally
Also i just noticed that when i unplug/plug in my laptop when im using it, the screen brightness does indeed auto adjust but the power plan does not. So i guess the main issue is the brightness level getting stuck after hibernation.

You are not alone. Sounds like something for either MS or Nvidia to fix.
Another thing i hate with the brightness control in 7 is that i cant make a specific brightness level for on battery and AC. Like sometimes i use AC but tone down the brightness, and then it saves that brightness.. A bit annoying "feature".
Power plan problem with screen brightness.
