Hi, I have winxp service pk 2 and Powerdvd 7.2 ultra. I downloaded the nvidia hd demo 1900*1080, however the video stutters. WinMP works fine for the video at around 66% video usage (cant turn on hardware decoder though ????). In powerdvd the purevideo decoder is turned on but video stutters constantly and cpu usage is around 72%. using driver 6.14.11.6501 for xp and latest purevideo decoder. my system should be able to handle this no problem since the video is only at 10Mbps. Btw for powerdvd the check box to turn on directx va is in grey??? does this affect anything?

7.2? weee. i got an upgrade from 6 to 7, and after a few weeks of use, i went back to 6 (working fine under XP and Vista) - heard that they now have a patch for 7.0 ( http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/patches_1_ENU.html), not sure if that would help u with 7.2

directx va "greyed.out" box: that might be an issue; i know that vlc needs this directx va out in order to show video and not just audio

mail cyberlink support, they r good at coming back with answer in a reasonable time frame

    cheers ...

    patch is only for 7.0
just tried playing normal dvd cpu usage is only 7% on powerdvd where it is 15% on winmp, so purevideo should be working correctly. and for the h.264 decoding it does show video, just stutters unlike smooth playback in winmp, plus more cpu usage too. any other ideas?

another problem with powerdvd, it stretches the screen incorrectly. Recognize a 1920 by 1080 as 1920 by 1440 and then centers it on the screen?? tried messing with aspect ratios, no luck.
