Just wondering what I should do before doing a clean install on my laptop..I have a Crucial M4 128GB just to let everyone know

Make recovery discs of the factory install and make sure you have an Ethernet cable or secondary WiFi adapter ready to go just in case.

If you do apply the Intel Rapid Storage Technology SATA drivers on your clean install then don't forget to make some minor tweaks in the registry so it disables LPM since Crucial SSD's don't seem to go well with this feature causing it to crash. More info can be found here.

I would add to the expert advice above, create an image on an external hard drive, If the recovery disk/program fails you will have an alternative. Also an image can be browsed and files can be extracted if needed (music, data, etc)

Added get downloads of all updated drivers-web cam, mouse,ect,,also do a secure erase of the ssd to clean up remnants on the drive, win 7 install disk will align the ssd and load drivers it has for the hardware-not the latest and greatest.
