    Hello,

I have a Dell M1330 with 2GB of Ram, 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo, 7200rpm drive. I am trying out Adobe Premiere CS3 with this setup and it seems a lot less responsive and generally slower processing clips compared to Vegas 7(stellar performance).

Do I need to upgrade RAM to 4gb or is the laptop inherently unsuited for processing clips on the go? I know that my laptop meets the "specs" listed on the adobe site but is my laptop's lack of a dedicated SCSI hard disk a dealbreaker for acceptable editing times.

I have had good success with Vegas 7 but importing MJPGs from my digital camera crashes Vegas.

    Thanks.

i'm assuming your using 32 bit os? you won't get the full 4 gigs if you do. but i do recommend buying 4 anyways should ever you decide to go 64 bit. you won't have dump a 1 gig stick to buy a 2 gig stick. you'd be losing money in the long run.
