I'm coming from 6+ years on a mac, and a couple of the things I might miss seem silly, but I'll ask anyway. Is there an easy way to print a document or webpage directly to pdf in Win7? We're still on WinXP at work, and to do a similar thing we have to print to file (which has a horrible folder browsing interface) and then use distiller to convert to pdf. Doable, obviously, but a bit of a PITA.
Similarly, the free iMovie app is more than adequate for the personal movie editing I do. Is the free MS app similarly capable?
Thanks much!
P.S. What's the preferred free virus scan software?

Hi,
printing to PDF is not built-in, you need 3rd party software like PDFcreator for example. MS wants to push its own XPS format which is similar, but of course not compatible.
As for the movie stuff: simply try if Movie Maker does what you need.
Virusscanner: Microsoft Security Essentials perhaps. There is a high chance that this does not flag system files as malicious. Occasionally, it will flag your Windows as being "not genuine".

for printing to pdf, install cutepdf, its free and works fantastic.
CutePDF - Create PDF for free, Free PDF Utilities, Edit PDF easily;.
as for imovie, use the microsoft live installer, there is movie maker and alot more tools in there.
Windows Live Essentials 2011 - Download free Microsoft programs
for AV and security I second using Security essentials or ESET NOD32 ( paid)

ESET - Antivirus Software with Spyware and Malware Protection -

I use to always use print to pdf when i purchase thing online, but prices and other important information were offten missing so i now use the screengrab addon for firefox, it capture the entire screen including any unseen portions and saves it to an jpg file.

If you use Microsoft Office 2007/2010, saving as PDF functionality is built in. Just click the item in the main menu. Otherwise, any of those third party tools are easy to use and work well.
Print to PDF in Win7? Movie editing? Virus scan?
