Hey everyone, I'm having a small problem with the .iso disc. I am currently running Windows 7 in VirtualBox and I LOVE IT!!!!! :D :D I am a Windows person but ran into a problem with Vista about 3 wks. ago and had to go to
Ubuntu :( . I want so bad to be back on Windows.

Now my laptop had Vista Home Prem. but that is now long gone. When I tried to install the Win 7 .iso from the 2 discs I burnt, I only got to the "Press any key to boot from DVD/CD" screen. Then the blinking cursor went away and left me with a blank black screen. Any ideas on how to install Windws 7.

    Mind you I do have:
    1st partition: PQSERVICE
    2nd partition: Ubuntu 9.04
3rd partition: where I am running Windows 7 with Virtualbox.

Wasn't sure if I needed to try and do "clean install" versus custom.

Any help guys, plz. I have had about all I can take of Ubuntu. :frown: :eek2:

This is kind of confusing. How did you burn two discs from one .iso?

When I installed Win7, I downloaded the Win7 RC .iso from Microsoft, burnt the disc (only one), and it booted just fine.

I'd recommend re-downloading the .iso and reburning the disc to see if that helps.

Hi Lew, thanks for responding. I downloaded the .iso, burnt it to disc, tried to install. The install didn't work so I read that I may need to re-burn it at a lower speed, so I went back and did that. I tried the installation with the newly burnt disc and still nothing. Just a black screen.

I've rechecked and re-downloaded the .iso file and even verified the MD5 was correct.

So now I'm in the process of re-burning the disc to see if it will work this time.

I know it's a "is your computer plugged in?" question, but I have to make sure it's asked... you are burning it as an image and not as a file, right?

It would be funny if his computer wasnt plugged in and he was trying to turn it on only to find a blank screen. You might be buring it correctly, use something like poweriso, daemon tools, gizmo central, etc to burn the iso image.
