I used Microsoft' tool to burn my iso image to my thumbdrive. However, when I try to use it on a laptop that has an optical disk drive, it gives me an error "a required CD/DVD driver is missing". Even after using Intel's Rapid Storage Manager driver for whichever laptop I try to install Windows on, the error still comes up and I cannot install. However, If I were to use a DVD to install, this error won't pop up, even when using the same iso image. The installation from a thumbdrive will work fine on a computer with no optical disk drive. I want to use a thumbdrive because I use it as an "all in one" storage device that holds just about every driver imaginable, and DVDs are too small to fit the drivers in. Any help is greatly appreciated![]()

Is your first boot device set to USB in BIOS?

Do you get this error when installing from USB? ( see pic)

Yes I get that error every single time, the Intel RST driver never does anything even if I select it. Interestingly, on a computer with no ODD, I can select the driver and then installation will continue normally, but if there is an ODD in the computer, the driver won't do anything. Thanks for the information regarding changing USB ports, I'll try that later and see if it works
