I have a XPS 1330 with Vista 32 Home Premium and I have a Windows 7 upgrade which I had preordered for $50.00. I tried to do a clean Install of Widows 7 64 Home Premium Via booting from the disk the Install went smooth but I have windows.old file in my C: drive which I deleted using Disk cleanup. So did I really do a clean install or not?
After installing Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit upgrade disk via boot method everything went smooth but when I pressed Media Direct button on my XPS it says
“Dell Media Direct Express cannot access your hard drive. This may be because you have enabled Microsoft Bitlocker (Drive Encryption). Media Direct Express is not accessible when Microsoft Bitlocker is enabled.” So now I am stuck even if I press power button on my XPS 1330m it launches Dell Media Direct and gives me the above message and it doesn’t boot with Windows 7. Please help
    Thanks

Well, I didn't have the bitlocker problem, but I did have an endless loop of mediadirect after installing win7 and hitting the media direct button by accident. Fixed it like this:

Try shutting it down, and then press AND HOLD the media direct button (til you see the bitlocker message for good measure). Shut it down again, and hit the power button. Should start windows normally. Just try it a couple of times, didn't work the first time with me.

Can't remember where I read about that solution, but it worked for me.

    Good luck!

Then guide will be in your handbook for media direct or online @Dell.
