I have recently noticed that sometimes when I click on some of the links on a webpage, nothing happens. Why is this?

I have also noticed that if I reload the webpage the link(s) usually function normally- however this is not allways the case.

This is a fairly recent occurrence and has only been happening the last week or so. I have internet explorer 9 installed which I have had since I purchased this laptop. Any clues would be greatly appreciated! :)

There is no pop-up blocker stopping you from opening an external link? Should be in "Internet Options" under the Privacy tab.

I would download Firefox, Chrome, etc. to make sure the problem is within IE9.

Could it possibly be something to do with Java?

I am not sure about Java, do you frequent sites that require it? If you do I would remove what ever is installed and install the latest version. You can also try to reset IE - Internet OPtions - Advanced - reset

I reset Internet Explorer and that didn't help, I have however downloaded firefox and that seems to have done the trick in one of the links I was trying to access :) , however I will use firefox exclusivley for the next week to make sure it was't just a one off.
I guess it can't have been anything to do with Java then.

So the question is, what works in firefox that doesn't work in IE9?

I guess I'll just have to wait till an update to Internet Explorer comes out...
