Before I start experimenting, trying to figure out what is causing this problem, I figured I'll ask to get some ideas.

Every time I resume from hibernation, Windows Explorer and Windows Help and Support Windows becomes funky.

Here is a photo of what it looks like.

My task manager doesn't do too much. If I'm lucky Windows Explorer will restart itself, but the Help and Support Windows prevents me from navigating Windows (other than being able to navigate abit through task manager and the Alt+Ctrl+Del window)

My temp solutions are logging off or switching users (I have only one user). I was surprised that switching users worked as it never closed any programs (That I could notice, just made it behave properly).

Not sure when it started, but I noticed it when I came back from school and hooked up my Alienware Tactx keyboard and started to project the display to a HP w2207h monitor.

Also, all the times it has happen, Chrome has been open, but it never did it when I was at school (7-8 months).

    Any help is appreciated.

It appears the HDD/SSD is not starting back up fast enough. once you have started back up and the desktop appears the drive is running again but drivers may not be initialized until as you mentioned switching user etc.......................

I would ask if you have one of those SSD cache in the system. If so the SSD may come up before the HDD starting you from hibernate but the HDD driver portion is not initialized. This then could be a driver issue and not so much of a Windows issue.

Sorry, This has been the first time I have been able to look at this post, since I created it.

I don't have a SSD cache drive installed; unless, you are talking about whatever little space the HDD uses to cache information, which I doubt.

I'll go ahead and try disabling and reenabling hibernation tonight.

Seems this was causing the problem. If I would wait a few seconds before logging into the desktop, the problem would not occur.
