Hey guys I got a small problem I myself created in Outlook 2007. Whenever I create an appointment I always use the "Location" entry for the area i'm working in as i'm a mobile auto tech.

I inadvertently entered the wrong information in that area instead of the town or city and I closed and saved the appointment by mistake.

Is there a file I can open to edit out that entry?

Can't you open up the appointment and edit it? Is it grayed out when you double click the appointment?

My bad for not explaining it. Yeah I did that. The only problem I have is that in the location entry field I have something other than the city or town and I can't remove or delete it. Unless there is a way to open the text file that logs those entries then I would be able to delete it permanently.

That's what i'm trying to do. The problem is I have no idea which text or log file stores those entries in Outlook 2007. :(

I'm pretty sure that the data is not stored in a text file or any other type of file that is easily editable.

Not sure why you are unable to edit that field. I checked mine, and it isn't a problem. Have you tried to just delete the entire calendar entry, and recreate it all together?

From my experience once you save an appointment any text created in the "location" field is stored and is permanent. I can't recreate the calendar as it's over a years worth of entries.

If I right click on the entry in the location field it allows for cut, paste, delete. When you try and delete it, it's still there.

I didn't mean all entries, just the one that you are having an issue with.

As for changing the location field, you are talking about the field right below the subject line, correct? I ask, because I have never had an issue with changing that field. I even just went in and updated a previous entry, and also created a new one and changed it as well. All without a problem.

Yeah that's the one. I can change the field etc. but the entry I incorrectly typed in there I can't remove it permanently. I can make changes in that field but it's always there as a choice. I tried pressing the delete key, right clicked and selected clear and no luck it's still there.

Too bad there isn't a file I could edit that field to permanently remove it.

Ahh, I see what you are talking about. The drop down list with previous entries. I'll see if I can snoop around.

There is a *.nk2 in your Outlook data file. I remember under Outlook 2003, that use to store previously typed names in the name field for Emails. See if that works.

    C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

That's where mine are - but I don't have a file with the extention .nk2, just .dat and .ost.
