    Hi Guys!

    I have got Win XP Home with WMP9 and IE7 on my Dell notebook.

    During the last weeks (possibly since upgrading to IE7) Ive got the problem that some streaming videos play much too fast. Voices sound all like Mickey Mouse :rolleyes:
    This happens not when I play videos from the Harddisk, only with some kinds of streaming videos, for example THIS ONE. I guess it must have to do with the Windows Media Player, as I don't have this problem with Flash videos like Youtube etc. It also happens, when I try to open a video file directly online in WMP. When i download the file to HDD, everything is fine...

    Can anyone help me with this issue?

    Today, I tried to upgrade to WMP11, but it crashed everytime I opened a file, so I went back to WMP9.
    Could the WMP10 solve my problems? Didnt try this one so far.

    UPDATE: I've installed WMP10, now I have no sound at all at these videos. All others still work fine.

    Hi again!

    I found a solution for my issue:

    In Tools-Options-DVD-Advanced on the tab "System" I cleared Use AC3 filter for... PCM and MPEG.

    I found out that the problem occured with mono audio. Seems that I was not the only one having problems with this issue. Here, the problem is discussed. It seems to have to do with the "SUPER (c)" videoconverter which I also use. It seems to change these settings on installation.

    As I tried some other solutions including a codec pack, I just restored my system back to the point yesterday before installing WMP11. So I have WMP9 again and here, the procedure also solves the problem of sound playing too fast. So, it must be the same issue, but with different symptoms in different WMPs.

    Perhaps this helps someone later, so I wrote it down here. If it doesnt help, there are a few other solutions described in the link. But I#d trie to install a codec pack only as last solution if others won't help.

    Update: Update to WMP worked fine, no problems anymore
