    Hello.
My notebook is Acer Aspire 3690 and OS: windows vista. When I close my computer, it is still switched on, but it doesn't response (help only removing battery) and LCD is black.
Before, I had got a windows XP and my system hibernated well then.
    please help me

hmm it looks like you have a Driver which is causing this and Display Drivers are main reason behind it , try updating it

Did you mean closing the lid? It might have something to do with the setting What should the notebook do if the lid is closed.

Did you try hibernating by choosing the Hibernate option from start orb?

Or maybe, it works the same as my notebook. As in the LCD becomes black, and doesn't show any progress, but it actually is in the process of hibernating.

I tried to hibernate as you said, but the effect is the same when i close the lid (cooling works, power button lights and if i want to work, it doesn't response).
Yesterday i upgraded XP to Vista and i installed the newest drivers (from acer site).

Did you install all of the required dirvers, like the notebook system software? Did you do a clean install, or did you upgrade over the top of XP?
