Hey guys. I downloaded updates yesterday and I got internet explorer 9 on my windows 7. it's a terrible program imo and I want the older version of internet explorer back.

worst of all, all of my stats and saved info are gone! you know how on search engines a lot of words that you typed before automatically appear? or on forums the usernames were also saved, and i could just click on them and no need to type them.

can i still get all this back? i did a backup of my computer last week too, so is it possible that all of that info is still in that backup?

thanks if you can help me. i panicked a lttle bit.

ok I have removed explorer 9, but all my saved info is still missing. Can I still get it all back somehow?
If not, could I still get it back from the back-up that I made?(i have a software called genie)

Um... Try using system restore to revert everything back the way it was before the update of ie9. It might work.

Yes, System Restore to BEFORE your update to ie9 should solve the problem. Regardless, you should not have lost your saved data while updating from ie8 to ie9. Freak occurance. :(

Hmm so everything on my computer will be the same as it was 2 days ago? But I have been working on my computer the past 2 days as well so i might not want to lose those changes..regardless it would be worth it for me.

No, your Documents are preserved, so you will not lose those if you use System Restore. What do you not like about IE9 other than that your saved login and autocomplete information is lost...?

I hate the whole layout and I really like ie8.

Alright so this system Restore software will only touch my stuff from internet and none of my other documents? Thanks guys I will give it a try.

Yes! I fixed everything with the system restore. I'm very pleased and couldn't have asked for a better way to fix this problem.

Glad you were able to fix your problem.

I would just like to recommend that you give IE9 another chance... It is a fantastic improvement over IE8 in terms of speed, stability, and security. It's my second most recommended browser.

I went from Firefox -> Chrome -> IE9. Internet Explorer 9 is pretty solid.

No idea what your problem is, but it's got nothing to do with IE9 per se. IE9 is a fine upgrade to IE8 in many respects, except for some of the cosmetic changes which may be a matter of taste to some. Other than that it has all of the features of IE8 (and then some), and you can even make it look almost the same as IE8 (with all of the old toolbars and menus, etc.) if you insist.
