    Hi all,
I just started experiencing a new problem with my new laptop. Everytime I try to have my computer enter standby mode this is the message that comes up

'The service'Microsoft.Net v1.1.4322 Update' is preventing the machine from entering standby'

What can I do to resolve this issue.
Any feedback would be very helpful

You could do Ctrl+Alt+Del and kill the process netfxupdate.exe, but it wont allow it to save any info and kill it instantaneously..!!

or run CMD, and type: net stop "Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1.4322 Update"

or you could go into control panel>administrative tools>services and stop the service and change it to manual from automatic....

or open WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322/updates/M928366, this number M928366 is a folder that keep the updates. then you'll find the uninstall icon..!! run it

    or check out this link..!!

    Hi Aangad,
Are the second and third options better?
I am kind of computer illiterate here..when you say run CMD do you mean going into start and saying 'run' and typing in net stop "Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1.4322 Update"?
If I go with the third option of going through the control panel and changing it to automatic would that cause any problems? Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Cj

    try the 2nd option first....Start > Run > cmd > C:\>net stop "Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1.4322 Update"
I am not aware if MS has got a fix for this or not....but I found this on the MSDN forums.. :)
