I really need to get this program back on my computer because I have a college class focused on it and I can't work on my final if I don't have it. Problem is, when I clean installed Windows 7 that program came over but the license wouldn't work so I uninstalled it. Now when I try to reinstall it, it says that the "Setup is Already Running" when it isn't or it will just hang. I checked the task manager every time and nothing is running that would interfere with it and I've tried cleaning the registry countless times with programs and still nothing.

Can anyone help me with this problem or am I screwed? I've heard some people online say that you can't reinstall where others say you can. This may not be the right place to post this but I don't know where else to go.

Also, I know my computer has the appropriate specs to run it because I ran it before. Thanks.

What did Adobe have to say about it?

On the web site it said to use the CS4 Clean Script but whenever I use that it opens and then closes. So that's no help.

You could try to run disccleaner (Windows Utility), then CCleaner to clear out any temp files.

Continue with this at your own risk:
Then run the reg cleaner and select only Adobe Entries (if its fully removed), restart, then check manually if Adobe left any folders (only the softeware that should be gone, i.e. if the reader is installed, keep it) remove these folders - and see if you can instal it then)

As I said above - part 2 only at your own risk.

Well, he can just back-up the Adobe Registries Entries entirely before doing anything stupid.
If something happen, he can just apply the back-up and restart the Laptop to gain back the safety state.

Silly question, but have you rebooted? It's possible your uninstall/install crapped out the first time and msiexec.exe is still running in the background.
