I've got a ThinkPad with a preinstalled XP Pro.
I'd like to have a second XP Pro on another partition.
I've resized the first one (with Ubuntu's partition tool), created a second Primary with NTFS and am trying to launch the XP installer (I've got my own XP CD).
So when it's time to pick a partition to do an install, all it sees is some weird, huge (131GB) partition which might actually be an empty space left from forming the two abovementioned NTFS partitions. (But that would be weird since I haven't created any partitions in that empty space.)
Moreover, I can recall from other install experiences that the installer would always see the partition with currently installed XP (thus offering to overwrite/repair or sth.) And he doesn't even see this existing system!
To be clear - the preloaded XP Pro works just fine and when I launch it, I can actually see also the other NTFS partition.

what are you trying to achieve by having 2 XP installs on the same PC?
can't setting up seperate user accounts achieve the same goal??
just a little baffeled by what you are doing...
one way you may get this to work might be to install XP home as the second copy of XP....
just grabbing at straws since no one else had an answer
bigO
Problems installing a second XP.
