    Hi there,

I've just got a new Apple Mac Pro and we've bought a printer that's both Mac and Windows compatible. The printer is attached to the Mac with a USB key and I can print from the Mac fine. My husband is trying to print using his Windows XP and he is unable to do do. I have set up his account on my Mac, enabled windows and printer sharing to slip through the Firewall... He has set up IP on his computer. His computer can see the printer but when he tries to print, nothing happens. Have we overlooked anything?

    ta very much

    . mac version?
. windows printer driver: try either "PostScript driver" or "Color LaserWriter", do not use the driver that comes with ur apple printer

    Hi there,

I have a Mac OS X Tiger. I don't think our printer is compatible for the stuff you mentioned. but thanks for trying! We have a HP Photosmart D6100/D6160 printer. This is not easy

    Hi there,

problem solved. My husband is now going around muttering and cursing about what he had to do to achieve printing but apparently he has done it.

He has been at this half the day yesterday which is why I thought it would be a good idea to post here. But it seems he has solved it finally.

Thanks for coming back so quickly though, it's good to know there are kind helpers out there!

    many thanks
