Hello all. I have an HP Pavilion dm4 3050 laptop. I have spent a lot of time trying to fix my bluetooth problems since updating to 8, and now I need some help!
I go into add a device in a the CP and the machine finds the bluetooth speakers and I add them. I then right click them-> sound settings, then see my speakers below the default device speakers. They are listed as disconnected so I right click them and try to connect but they won't connect. I have updated the Intel bluetooth drivers but the speakers still won't connect. What can I do? Thank you.

i know nothing about your lappy but do you have shortcut keys using Fn + (on a lot of models) F12 which turns bluetooth on.

That could be your problem right there. I see that that laptop ships with Windows 7 from factory, so the driver for your bluetooth may not be compatible with Windows 8 yet. Have you tried installing the driver under compatibility mode for Windows 7? -
My bluetooth is definitely on and functioning. I can send and receive files between my phone and laptop.
I have now tried that and it didn't work. Still can't get the speakers to connect!
Thanks for your suggestions. Any other ideas? -

Don't use Windows 8?
If it's a driver problem, you'll either need to wait for the driver to be available for 8, or you'll need to concede to buying a USB bluetooth dongle.
