Okay guys, I have come to the point where I don't know what else to do to get this working. I have a media PC that NEEDS Vista (Not Win 7 or XP, but Vista). I can install XP and Windows 7 perfectly fine without any problems, and have rebooted it multiple times and everything is cool. When I install Vista, it installs perfectly, and then boots for the first time. After it gets to the OS for the first time and I reboot it, it will never boot into Vista again. After the BIOS prompt it acts like it's going to load Vista and then goes to a black screen and has random characters in all different colors all over the screen. Basicly the same screen you get when the RAM is FUBAR

The hardware is fine (As far as I know). I ran HDD diags, RAM diags, all passed with flying colors. Like I said, WIndows 7 boots without a hitch (But I need Vista :(). Also, I have used 2 different Vista Images, all with the same issue. I even installed XP and then upgraded to Vista with a virtual drive (Magic ISO and Magic Disc) and it produced the same issue. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You say you have two difference vista IMAGES...what do you mean by that? Is this a image you are trying to restore or are these valid windows dvds?

You cannot restore--generally--an image from one computer to another with different hardware.

It sounds like you're using an ISO image of Vista. Perhaps the ISO is bad.

If this is the case, I hope you got the Vista image from a safe place and it's a clean copy of Vista.

**Boy this lagging and stalling at NBR is getting tiresome! I wish they would work on their servers.

I fixed it. Not sure why but it was a hard drive problem. I bought a brand new 250GB Seagate drive and windows vista didn't like it. I put an old 80GB IDE drive in it and it worked perfectly. O well I guess. Thanks guys!
