I was wondering if anyone else has been having problems with or have heard of problems with 64bit keyboard drivers for Win 7.

I was using the Win 7 32bit RC and had no issues with it on my Dell XPS M1330 but since I installed the 64bit RTM version last month my Space Bar, 'b', 'n' '/' and arrow keys periodically (every 15 minutes or so) stop working and it requires me to hit them six or seven times to get them working again. Its especially bad when the laptop comes out of sleep. As far as I know these are the only keys affected.

I have checked that no debris is obstructing the keys.

    Cheers

Had something like this happen with a Dell 1330 not too long ago, but the "/" key is throwing me--in my case, it was the bnghty keys---Note the location--all in close proximity on the keyboard.

First thing to do is to go into device manager and remove the keyboard and reboot--allowing windows to reinstall they keyboard driver.

That didn't do it for me. Turned out in my my case removing the keyboard cable and reinserting it solved the issue as the keyboard cable was not properly seated.

The cable is a flat ribbon that inserts into a "slot" and is held in place by a pressure bar--sliding the bar out eases the tension, sliding it in tightens the ribbon down.

    Not too difficult a repair

Thanks for the advice gerry. I tried that out and initially none of the keys worked but after uninstalled and reinstalled the generic windows drivers I just ended up back wer I started with "bn/ space bar and the arrow keys (minus the "up" arrow which works) not working. I might just install a 32bit version of Win7 and see if that solves the problem.
