Am currently using WMP as my audio player..not a bad player but a few things drive me nutty! 1) Every time I burn a disc there is a 2 second gap btwn songs..fine when listening to a regular album but when I am listening to a live album it drives me crazy! Is there a way to burn audio without this gap? 2) When I try to fit more audio than the standard 80 mins onto a cd-r it wont let me..have to burn in "Data disc mode" which is fine..but my Cd/DVD player will not recognise the disc! (in the burn tab it states.."Add a list of all burned files to the disc in this format choices are WPL or M3U..I choose WPL..is that right?) 3) Is there a better player out there? Am I bit reluctant to copy all my audio to a new player and like WMP for it's easy navigation and simplicity! Anything out there like WMP? All/any suggestions would be most welcome!

I'm using Nero 7 on my XP box and Vista Laptop and it has a check box in NERO ROM to remove gaps. I can even edit the gap manually for each track. Nero will also allow you to "overburn" the disc to over 80 minutes which also works as long as its only a few seconds. How much you can over burn depends on the media and drives that you may be using. I don't know how the newer versions of NERO are but I never liked the Nero smartstart or Nero express wizards.. I have them but I just create a shortcut key to the Nero Rom which is a basic template driven burn engine in Nero allowing me to make data/movie DVD's or audio/data CDR's. I also can load a ton of codecs for Nero (Flac/shn/ape etc... and burn thoses files to audio CD on the fly. The only thing that Nero fails at for me is burning DL discs or DL data discs. It screws up the layer break. But for that I use IMGburn which allows you to set the layer break manually for DL movies or you can use the UDF for Data. UDF for DL data may also work for Nero but I can't remember. Mostly I use DL for movies and Nero is total crap for that. But Nero is on version 9 now. Hopefully buy now they figured out DL better. For regular DVD/CDR stuff its always been great for me when using just the Nero Rom.

As for WMP I would never consider that for burning anything. For playing movies/audio I am using it more and more. Mainly because I like the way WMP 11 looks. But it still won't play flac for me. Even though WMP classic/ VLC / and wimamp can out of the box. My winamp Pro player also has buring capabilities and its a good MP as well capable of doing just about everything. But its a bit of a resource hog and it does not open as fast as WMP. But you might give that a try.. its free for the basic version.. But to burn I think you have to upgrade to the pro. I did burn with it once and it worked.
