This is not Asus specific but since I'm considering a V6(va or J), I thought I'd post it here. I don't know where this thread should be otherwise, so please excuse (and move it) if this is terribly wrong.

Does anyone of you use a professional 3D progam, like Maya, 3ds max, XSI or Cinema 4D etc.?

I'm still indecisive about which notebook to get and one of the factors for me is the non-gaming 3D-performance. HP's nw8240 has a FireGL, certified for those kind of 3D applications, but I'm not sure if that is actually necessary.

I'm doing OK on my old desktop Geforce FX, so pretty much any up-to-date midrange GPU should be more than enough, BUT I've heard people complaining about ATI's OpenGL performance and stability (related to desktop cards), so I'd like to know how notebooks hold up in this regard.

If anyone can share any experiences, I'd really appreciate it. Many thanks.
