Hello:
I have a program that will not run under any level of 'Administrator' in Win 7 64. I logon as admin. I run the program as admin. I've even tried checking the 'run as admin' box in the exe.
However, once I enabled the 'hidden' uber admin feature, it runs fine. What could cause this and is there a known workaround?
Please help - many thanks in advance!![]()
(PS: The program is a flight sim called IL2 1946. I've searched on several game forums and have not found a solution.)

if its an old sim then it might not be fully compatable with 7 64bit. try running it in the XP mode.

Windows 7 protects the program folders by default, making them read-only. This is a sensible security measure, but in older version of Windows this didn't happen. Consequently, some older programs stored working files or settings in the program folder, whereas Windows would expect them to be stored in the Application Data folder, and Windows 7 is much more strict.
Even if run as an Administrator, a program may not always have write permissions to its own program folder, unless as you say you're logged in as the superuser.
The solution has always been relatively simple. Find the program folder that the software is installed into, and set permissions to allow full control for everyone in that folder and sub-folders. This has never failed for me.
Good luck!
