    I think he/she is trying make a DVD or VCD so it can play on a regular DVD player. bigzz, that is only for storing.

    There is a program, TMPGenc, that will easily convert AVI to MPEG/MPEG2 format for you to burn as DVD or VCD. It's simple enough to use in my view. Then just use a burning program out there that burns to a DVD (ex. Nero).
