I've got cyclic redundancy errors in the past and it was due to the CD being damaged. Try copying the disc to your computer and see if Windows reports an error trying to transfer the data.

yer as Gregory_Is_Cheap said, when using dvd shrink it gives the same error 'cyclic....' which turns out to be a bad disc so assuming its the same thing.

If I were a game I wouldn't allow myself to be installed on a PC with a lame Mac skin either.

your error code usually a sign of the disc being scratched or damaged somehow...the laser in your optical drive is unable to read through these damaged regions

If you type recover damaged cd lots of well written guides come up some for software that can attempt to access the data & some for physical fixing. I have brought a few scratched DVD's to the small movie store near my house and the guy fixed it somehow (no clue what he did) and only charged me a few dollars for it. I assume most movie stores know their secret, so try taking it to one.

if the ROM is scratch up that bad chances aren't too good on a fix up...although i've never tried one of the wal-mart type disc polishers...the package i believe claims to be able to fix scratched discs...myself...don't have too much faith in such a claim...the problem is similar to a person who need glasses or contacts to be able to see with clear vision...when the optical drive is trying to read the disc...it's light spectrum is being distorted by those scratches...much like our eyes are when corrective lenses are needed...instead of the laser focusing on the read area it's light is being scattered by those scratches...if it's that old of a game...take a look on Amazon...probable find it for less than your efforts to fix the damaged one...hope this brief explaination helps you in understanding your problem
