I have an interest in doing digital art, like drawing anime and other things and I want to tack that on to wanting to major in animation. Since I have no basics in animation but have an interest in drawing, I want the next laptop I get to have good enough specs for whatever digital art programs I may run. I have a slight idea what programs I would use but currently my laptop that I have now runs a C2D T5450 processor with no dedicated graphics so running most modern software is nearly impossible. I want to get a new laptop soon so I can try my hand with some digital art software but my two main questions are:

What type of programs for digital art would I use in the future, and what specs should I look for in the next computer I get for this? Keep in mind I would be going to college in about a year and will be taking my computer places so size and weight are also factors.
