I'm boring. Classic style. Teal color scheme. Background constantly changing.
-
classic windows 'theme' - they're different things; the former controls
the layout of the start menu and the latter manages the look of win-
dows, dialogs, your start menu, etc.
the classic start menu layout is independant of the theme, as it can
be used with both the classic theme and visual styles such as silver,
olive and the default luna.
when you choose 'adjust for best performance', the theme engine
is not used, which is the same effect as selecting classic from the
theme tab in display properties, at least, when the look of windows
and such is concerned. however, selecting best performance, dis-
ables various graphical effects and the common tasks in folders for
instance and indeed changes the layout of your start menu a bit
and puts the 'my computer' and some other icons on your desktop,
instead of only in your start menu.
i use the classic windows theme with the non-classic start menu at
the moment =] -
oooooohh...fancy! lol. -
Sarcastic?
Well, I like it. I get bored with these styles often, and when I've already replied to all posts I can on this site...my mouse gets a wanderin. -
I use Royale from AutoPatcher setting
-
I have to say mine changes a lot as I use the neowin uxthemepatcher that allows me to run unsigned styles. Right now I am on the Royal 5 color using the black setting. I am searching for a new one as I try to match a color in my background but I am having a hard time with this new bg.
-
neenee, thanks for that. i learn another new thing today. yeah i just discovered that start menu and theme are two different beasts independent of each other. adjust for best performance uses classic theme but uses default start menu setup where there are two columns (left hand side which is customisable containing locked and recently used programs, right hand side which isnt customisable). classic start menu would only use one column regardless of what the desktop theme is (be it classic theme, be it default theme, it doesnt matter).
bigv, sorry for previous post

hmmmm, it seems MS has pulled the royale theme from their website...
-
ya..I also looked for that on the website but couldn't find it..
-
just google "royale XP", the first site that comes up has it for download.
-
I found it at here
At least I think its the same thing. -
I like silver but also have used blue and olive (I like olive during fall for some reason) my background changes pretty much every week. Usually outdoors stuff or cars but I like abstract also. I've used a couple of custom skins also.
-
-
Royale is nice. That's what i'm using now.
-
later,
sky -
I installed it (Royale) a earlier today and played around with it for a bit and havent noticed any problems yet. I think I will go back to my usual silver though because thats what I am used to.
-
I too have used MC Royale but prefer XP Olive since it has a more 'professional' look to it.
-
but i am glad you do not seem to mind.
i try to learn something new everyday as well =] -
-
I am now on a brushed metal theme...skinned my sidebar to match. Looks great!
-
None, I like the Space them from Xp Plus and I alternate with the Da Vinci theme depending upon my mood.
-
I use classic because it uses the least memory.

I had XP Style Olive for the past 8 months before reading this thread last night and venturing into using XP Royale. It's a nice change, though the olive is like a comfortable pair of jeans...I'll probably go back to that after a week or two.
-
nice..where did u got it from i cant find it? -
I also use Royale. I like it much better than the default XP Pro options. However, if I were to choose a second, I'd have to go with the Luna Blue. Silver and Olive always looked a little washed out to me, and years of being forced to use Windows 2000 jaded me when it comes to the Classic theme.
-
guys guys please..where can i get this royal blue theme? or where can i get free themes ..i try google and i dont see any
-
I alternate between them equally, maybe choosing silver more since I have a few more black backgrounds.
-
XP Royle all the way@!!!
-
you should see if you can add the Media Center Edition blue, it's a bit more rounded, like glassed
edit: thats royale, nm -
-
Can't be bothered changing, as far as it is efficient and don't hog up system resources, i'm using the win xp blue (default) as it blend in better w/ all app, don't really like the win classic theme much though
-
I loved Royale back then.... and now I switched to Luna Element. These two were much much better than the standared windows xp theme - no matter the colour.
-
-
wow! syndrome....where did yyyyyyyyyyou get that theme from???
-
Looks like Sentinel D, I used to use it. http://themes.belchfire.net/index.php?download=2000
I'm not sure if theres a more official site for it, or a newer version than that one. There's also Sentinel X and a few others I think in a similar style.
Also, the accessory pack for the winamp skin, and other stuff. (not the same skin Syndrom had, I think he just has the regular one with different colors) http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/1048242/ (click the 'download to desktop' link below the image') -
Windows Classic FTW. It doesn't need any processes like the others do.
-
Ok, I liked the one that Syndrome has. Thank for the link. But where do I find the one that looks like Vista (black theme). Someone posted a screenshot of their using ( I think it was Aero Night UI or something like that).
-
CHeck this out for Vista looks, best IMO, I've also had no performance loss.

I use the blue style on XP. But I'm thinking on change it, any recomendations? I want diferent style like widnows vista or apple, or change colors. But I'm afraid that it will slow the system performance.
Now I have look this: http://www.windowsxlive.net/?page_id=15 It slow the performance of the computer? -
Edit: Wrong link -
meh. who cares, its always covered up by a game anyway 8)
-
@ahidalgo, i have noticed no performance loss whatsoever
-
Thanks! I'm thinking of downloading it and try. If I don't like I can uninstall it?
-
Yes you can uninstall it
-
I really love Royale theme. Way better than the other ones IMO.
