I am currently working on my partitions on my E1505. I noticed that I have the Dell Utility Partition (that no longer has anything in it), my C windows partition, a (*) partition that is marked as extended, a D: media partition, and another (*) partition marked as unallocated.

should i delete and merge the Dell Utility partition into my C drive, and what should I do about the second "unallocated" (*) partition. thanks.

If the *'s are very small then don't worry about it. I have seen those on mine as well, but they are normally about 400k. The Dell partition, unless you manually removed the files, should have hidden OS files for the Dell recovery. If you removed all the files on purpose, then you can merge the partitions without worry.

The dell utility partition doesnt have anything in it i beleive. I reformatted my pc and as far as I know, the files get deleted when you do that. Its like 47 mb large, and like .2mb is used up.

the second Unallocated (*) entry is very small, I just dont want it to show up like that and clutter, it doesnt show up under Disk Management in windows.
