Alright so i have alot of stuff on my hard drive. It is 320gb but i have used up almost all of it, i have about 10gb left.

So i went to do a disk defragmentation using mydefrag. I have a few really large game iso's on my hard drive (yes its legal), and mydefrag for some reason gets stuck on one iso file(any iso file) for the entire night and doesnt make progress, but when i check my computer it says i now have 30 gb free?
Forgot to add, a couple of days later i tried it again with the windows defragmenter, same scenario, i left it on overnight and it didnt finish, i came back and my computer said it had 50 gb free space now.
    Whats going on?

Try clean up (remove) some of the unwanted software, clean out the cache and temp files (cCleaner?) and then try the defrag again.

Are you using newest version of MyDefrag?

    cheers ...

Normally the defrag programs need some "swap space" - some even clearly state how much they need. Agree with qhn, clear out some files, make sure you have the latest version.

Oddly enough I found (in saller numbers) space used up and then cleaned up by a defragmentation - there may have been some left over files from defragmentations for example that your computer cleaned up.
If you were worried - try a programme like Recuva on it and see what was in the free space.

I suggest you Auslogics BoostSpeed :)
Give it a try, remove all temp files and un-needed trash. And try with Auslogics Disk Defrag.

Try CC Cleaner, IO Bit Freeware Advanced Systemcare, or Premium Booster :)

Another vote for CCleaner. Also, the same company also makes a defrag software called Defraggler. Give it a try.

Windows requires that a volume should have 15% free space in order to defragment the filesystem. I suggest you copy some of those large ISOs onto an external HD before trying again.
