I'm new to Windows 7 (coming from a Mac). My Sager NP8170 will be coming shortly. Uses will mainly be gaming, MS Office. It'll have the following drives:

Main drive: 120 GB Intel 510 SSD (Windows 7 pre-installed)
    Secondary drive: 500 GB HDD

I've been reading around sites and forums a lot and below are some of my assumptions and questions. Please set me straight if I'm off base.

    - The primary drive (120 GB SSD) won't be partitioned. It'll contain Windows 7 OS, virus program, and other commonly used programs like MS Office.

    - The secondary drive (500 GB HDD) will be partitioned and will contain music, photos, videos, games, and any bulky programs.

    Questions:

    1. Should I use the SSD for only OS and virus and put everything else (including programs) on the secondary drive?

    2. Is it useful to partition the SSD (like System and Programs partitions) for ease of re-installing the OS if necessary? Or is it better to keep the whole drive as one volume? Most sites/forums I've read say not to partition the main SSD.

    3. Can I set up the secondary drive partitions whatever way I want (such as Media, Data, and Programs, etc.)?

    4. Should I move some files from the SSD to the HDD to free up space (such as User files)?

    5. Are there and system functions or files that I don't because I'm using a SSD for my system drive?

    6. What's the best way to set up for system recovery and/or re-install (such as disk image on secondary drive partition)? FYI: I will have a Windows 7 CD.

Thanks for any input. This is my first Windows machine, and I'm learning as I go.
