Hey all, quick questions. First off if I dual boot xp will I have to reinstall all my apps / games again, or will I be able to access them on the other partition? Secondly, when I shrink the drive and go to name the unallocated space under volume name, it says I don't have enough space to make this another partition even though I allocated 100 gigs to it. can anyone explain whats going on?

So one of the easiest way to do a dual boot IMHO is to have an XP partition, a Vista partition, and a Program/Data partition. I am actually running this setup on my desktop now and it is great.

To install a program you first install it in either OS but then install it onto the Program/Data partition. Then you go into the other OS and install it at the same location, because you need to get the registry entries for the program. I've done this with games before and it has worked fine. On the second install, it should be pretty quick since all the data is already there (based off of my experience).
