Hi all, I know that on Macbooks, it's possible to dual boot, but is it possible to wipe iOS all together and only run Windows 7? If possible, is it something that can be easily done?

Considering that you'll get no switchable graphics, bad trackpad drivers, shorter battery life, just don't!

Short answer No. Want to run a Windows 7 O/S get a PC laptop and install and run Windows 7. What your asking to do will not work and most likely will not have PC driver support for it.

    1) it's OS X, not iOS.
    2) OS X is the only OS that can do firmware updates.
    3) OS X isn't bad.

    1 and 2 yes

3 depends on the user preference. but the long answer is if you can deal with a few driver quirks, shorter battery life especially on any MacBook with a dedicated GPU you can run windows 7 alone without bootcamp or OSX. Windows Vista onward support EFI booting.

HOWEVER ... Apple has now discontinued Windows 7 support for the Mac Pro and is expected to stop it any time now on its consumer lines which may cause issues and force many users to go to windows 8, 8.1 and 10

more or less my opinion as well.
