This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Linux is a truly great OS. Better than Windows, in fact. The problem I have with it is the fact it does more or less nothing I want to do except for web browsing and email. I don't want to allocate drive space for that. I can do web browsing or email with whatever version of Windows I decide to load, so I don't need that from Linux. If I did not care more about benching and gaming with very specific game titles than anything else, I would move to Linux lock, stock and barrel and would not waste any drive space on Windows.
