Which one's newer computer of these two similar SONY VAIO laptops?
This one (R505): Sony Vaio R505EL 12 1 PCG 643L Laptop Computer Notebook Parts Repair Sold as Is 027242611887 | eBay
Or this one (V505): Sony Vaio PCG V505EX 12 1" 80 GB Intel Pentium M 1 5 GHz 512 MB Notebook 027242642720 | eBay
1. Which one has the better processor?
2. Is it possible to remove the ancient processor and replace it with a modern one?
3. Is it possible to plug in a 1TB HDD in these laptops (would it work?)
4. If I plugged in a 320 GB HDD with W7 already installed in it with lots of files, could it boot from it?5. What is the maximum RAM on these two laptops?
6. Could it play bluray movies?

The PCG V505EX appears to be [inappreciably] better. Honestly, though - you would spend more money trying to upgrade the parts than you would just searching for a better laptop on eBay still. The law of supply and demand dictates that: everything old is more expensive.

Thank you. Do these laptops have processor worse than Intel Pentium 2450MHz?
-
Nevermind, I see that it has lower than 2450Mhz. How do I find an old cheap laptop on Ebay that has at least 2450 Mhz?

Which CPU might have at least 2450 Mhz?
-
Why the obsession with 2350MHz? Both of those machines are ancient, I had an R505 and it was good for its time, which was a long while ago. They are not easy to work on, very fiddly, and the CPU is not upgradable. Best to look at upping the budget to something more realistic, even an Atom netbook (Ugh!) would be a betterchoice.
-
What do you mean by very fiddly?
A software that I wanted to download recommended 2450 Mhz or higher. -
A 3600Mhz Pentium 4 has Passmark score of 470.
Core2Duo L9400 1830Mhz, HP 2530p in my sig, scores 1281.
A modern Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3400MHz scores 9479 points on Passmark.
Of those two laptops you mention: Sony Vaio PCG V505EX Intel Pentium M 1500MHz, score of 395.
And Sony Vaio R505EL, Intel Pentium III family 1133MHz, score of 296.
They wouldn't play bluray, not even HD Youtube without stuttering. Looking at the age of those laptops, you are limited to PATA storage, good luck finding any hard drive over 120GB and reasonable price. Maximum ram is either 512MB or 1024MB and for a price of one 512MB chip you'd get probably 4GB of DDR3 these days...
There is absolutely no logical reason to get one, unless you are doing for historical/hobby reasons (like buying a 60's muscle car). You'll soon find it is not good for your daily use anyways. -
Thank you.
The reason I wanted it was because it had the best keyboard that I remember using. It was narrow (12 inch) meaning that I didn't have to move my fingers around too much. And the keys had a very good feel to it. Also the magnesium alloy felt good too.
Would it be so slow that even web browsing with just three tab might be slow compared to modern computer like my MacBook Pro? -

For today's web browsing a bare minimum is a higher-end Pentium M CPU, preferably in the 533MHz guise like PM 760/770/780. Even these will require some tweaking to ensure smooth operation.
