I have been using Office 2010 Beta Professional Plus x32 version and it has been great. I will defenetly be buying it when released. My Win 7 Pro install on my laptop is x64 bit so I figured I would download and use the x64 bit version of Office. The problem is I don't know where to find it on MS site. When I go to download Office Beta from here it doesn't let me choose x32 or x64, there is just a download here and I get one file. Anyone know where on MS's site that I can get x64 Office 2010?

I don't believe that Microsoft has an x64 version of Office 2010 as of right now.
Like you, I also am using Office 2010 on Windows 7 x64 Home Premium and am using the 32bit counterpart.
All we can do right now is wait =D

There is an x64 vesion of 2010--I have it installed. However, I got it through technet as opposed to the open beta.

I do not know that it was ever available on the open beta.

Truthfully, though, there is no benefit to x64 with office 2010 so far. Performance gains were not a priority of the development team--they just want stable code.

The actual benefits of 64-bit are not expected to be seen until office 2012/3

Hey, thanks for the reply. Are you sure? Their download page mentions something about being able to choose the x32 or x64 version. But when you click the download link you are not given a choice for anything, only one file is downloaded(an exe) and when you run the exe there is no choice as well.

Here is the language on the download page "After registering, you will be able to select the version (we recommend 32-bit which runs great on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows) and your software language."

There's definitely an x64 version; I've installed it a lot at work too. However, I also got it through other methods(MSDN).

I don't have MSDN or technet, I need to be able to get it through MS's Beta site, if possible.

Sigh... I thought it would be nice if I was running Office x64 since I am running Win 7 x64, but if it is so hard to get and doesn't have ANY performace benefit, then I might have to give up my quest :(

Well it's just a beta right? You can always purchase the x64 version when it comes out.

Unless your uses are very heavy, I doubt you'd notice a gain for x64.

In fact, there is one really annoying glitch I have discovered so far--windows mobile device center will not sync with Outlook 2010, meaning if you use it with your cell phone you are crap out of luck

when you're going through the process to download the beta you have to select IT Professional instead of Developer or just general user

then you can find the 64-bit download

or just follow this link (should work I think) - http://technet.microsoft.com/evalcenter/ee390818.aspx

Isn't 64Bit meant to allow for larger spreadsheets in Excel? :)

I'm running MS Office Professional Plus 2010 Beta, on my lappy with no probs (Win 7/64). I just had to uninstall Office 07 & used Key they gave me after DL to install. :)

With Prof. Plus you can run with 32 or 64 bit.
