Yes, but the terms of the license are that all software obtained via Technet can only be used for evaluation or testing purposes. You may not use it in any "production environment" (my quotes, not Microsoft's).

Office is available for $60 on student discounts.
I would expect that Win7 will be available for $50- or less.
