Hi all,
My question is pretty simple and straightforward, no matter how basic: Is there any way that I can check my dual core processor to make sure both cores are functioning properly? Is it possible? Any information would be much appreciated.

EDIT: By the way, the misspelled word in the title is a typo.I know that's now how the word is spelled and I can't change it. My bad. Maybe the mods will help me out on this. *fingers crossed*

Open task manager, click the performance tab, make sure both cores are being utilized.
Probably a more in depth way of doing it but just to confirm that cores are enabled, this works. -
Hep,
Thanks for the information. Once again, I've learned something from you. Thank you. -
The best way to tell if your processor is fine is to run one of those CPU monitoring utilities. I prefer CoreTemp as it works great for checking the temperature of the processor plus how much load each core is handling.
Edit: I agree with Hep! on checking if all the core's register some activity in the Task Manager's performance tab. -
I must admit that I'm a bit afraid to use this program. I read the README.txt and it says that the program can cause some weird behavior and to 'use at your own risk.' I generally stay away from programs with disclaimers telling me to use it at my own risk.

True, there is a risk in running these kinds of applications. I braved it rather foolishly before reading the warnings

I hear you. I don't share your same zeal for adventure, though.
Seriously speaking, I'm probably just too cautious when it comes to things like this, but I can't help it.

No problem THAANSA, glad to help.
McGrady - is there something I'm missing? hwmonitor is great but it hardly tells you if all of your cores are being utilized..
