This mandatory announcement was sent to all Gmail users
Google Inc.
Is this legit? Could it be a trick??
-
its fake, report it
they even have a comma in place of a period...
why is Information capitalized in the middle of a sentence
and what kind of english is "mandatory announcement"
the person who wrote this didnt even bother to spellcheck
if google really wanted to contact you through their own service, they would use a more sophisticated means than sending mail through their own service. maybe a popup, a link, or simply a message on top of the gmail site -
The first line suggests they were trying to spoof the recent email about about Google Buzz Class Action Settlement.
-
Actually, this is because of a recent lawsuit. Google sent a similar email to this, someone has taken advantage of this and has begun sending spam/ scam emails.
-
Thanks guys, don't know what could've happened if I replied to it. -
Very simple, tehy would have read all of your stuff, sent out emails from your email address probably containing more scams/ viruses, and they would have used accumulated information to steal your identity! =p Google will never ask for your email or password.
Questionable email from Google inc.?
