Just a few questions for you Win7 Pro's!

    1. Is there anyway to remove the icons from the notification area compleltley (e.g. I don't want them in the little pop up box either?)

    2. Should I change settings in my BIOS to use AHCI? Then follow these instructions? (to avoid having to re-install the OS?)
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976

Will this allow me to install the Intel Matrix Storage Drivers? (Are they even nessacary?

Currently in my BIOS in order to change the AHCI setting, it also automatically enables some stuff refering to robson technology, despite me not having intel turbo memory. Can you please explain that?

    The BIOS Page looks like
    Intel Robson - Disabled
    SATA - Device 31, Function 2 Compatible
    AHCI Configuration: Disabled
    DFOROM(robson) Support: Disabled

When I change it it looks like

    Intel Robson - Enabled
SATA - Device 31, Function 2 High Performance Mode (or something)
    AHCI Configuration: Enabled
    DFOROM(robson) Support: Enabled

    3. Will I see improvments by doing the above? According to WEI my HD is a big bottleneck, stuck at 5.4 while everything else is above 6.0 would this potentially improve that score? (not that I care much about WEI)

    4. Does Tuneup utilities 2009 work on Win7?

    5. Is there anyway to get a browser window to overlap/overlay the superbar at the bottom?

    6. Do I need to install any network drivers? I can currently connect to the internet, but I did not install any ethernet drivers, I am not sure if they are needed or not.....

Thanks that is all for now. Rep to good answers :)

you might want to try the search function....since most of your questions already answered there..

    1.manually hide
    2.search function
3.might increase..but try using HDTUNE instead to benchmark , so that you can see the difference

    1. Manually Hide? what do you mean, I tried right clicking on them, no options to remove, I tried doing the "customize" button, best I can get out of that is to move them to the little pop up box instead of always displaying? Anyway to remove them complelty from the area....(w/o uninstalling obvs)

    2. Search Function - I have searched, I have found very little that is relevant or answers completely what I need to this particular case. Please elaborate.

    3. Cool

    4. Cool

    5. Also have searched. No results - if you searched and found it so easily, can you just provide a link?

    6. Elaborate? Why exactly? (net is working right?) Also where do I download? How do I know what I need?

    Thanks.
