You have to have a separate license to install XP on two machines. Integrating SP2 into a disc isn't impossible though.

You need two licenses to use XP on two computers. You can transfer XP to the new machine only if you delete it on the old. Anything else is piracy.

No, it's copyright infringement. Piracy has to do with ships, oceans and yelling "ARRRRRRR!!!" a lot.

But Microsoft won't let you install it twice. Get a new copy of XP if you want to use it, or use Linux.

Well, considering that I graduated from a high school that had a pirate for a mascot... :). Anyway, software piracy = copyright infringement. AFAIK it is just a different term for the same thing.

    I like the comment though...funny.

You can do a slipstream install. Just google "slipstream windows xp sp2" and you'll find the instructions. I had to do this since my pre-sp2 XP gave me the BSOD on install on my Z96j. It works great and it doesnt take too long to do.

But it's completely, entirely useless if you happen to need XP, which is what the OP was asking about. :)

He already has one box with XP and wanted to use that key again for a 2nd box, so that why I suggested Linux.
