Whenever I begin to type an address into the search bar it automatically gives me options from my bookmarks.
I'd like for it to not do that.
Anyone know how to turn it off? I searched and couldn't find anything.
Thanks

This is a major beef for me as well. I hope there is a fix for it.

As of right now there is no fix

I've not used it, but the OldBar Add-On is purported to be a way to do this.

is the RC3 has the this feature? Because I don't like it either. I just go back to the the version 2.

I don't mind the "awesomebar"; it is just different, not overly annoying
-
You might try the "Adjust the Smart Location Bar's Number of Suggestions" shown in this link
-
That suggestion works. If you change the browser.urlbar.maxRichResults to 0 in about:config , it will eliminate the drop down selections.
-
Yeah
Though I prefer the original

There is a fix, i was annoyed by it as well! in the url type in about:config then double click browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped to set it to TRUE and than restart firefox and it'll eliminate your bookmarks coming up as you type in the url bar.

i actually changed it from 0 to 1 and its perfect for me. i set my bookmarks to keywords, so when i want to come to this site i just type in "no" and hit enter
-
That's awesome, I might actually just limit the amount of bookmarks to 3.

The "awesomebar" is of course still active. All this "fix" does is to change the number of entries displayed. Zero simultates "Off". BTW, the list is taken from both your bookmarks and your history.

I've set my history for only 5 days. Damn, the default is like 90 days. That'd be a lot of history.

I clear the history everyday
