I'm curious which OS would run better on my notebook; stripped down netbook version of Windows 7 or nLite XP.

    My specs are:

Centrino M 1.7 GHz, 1GB RAM, 50GB 5400 RPM HD, and ATI Mobility Radeon 16MB

I currently have the EEEPC Win. 7 OS, and it runs alright, but am just curious if nLite XP would run a lot better...thanks!

Well, since you tailor XP to your specific system with nLite, and it can run on slower/older hardware, I would say XP would work better. But, without doing any testing, that is just a guess. Try it and see.

as much as I love Windows 7, honestly, I would use XP on your system.
